Who You Repel Is As Important As Who You Attract

One of the biggest pitfalls in the marketing profession is trying to please everyone or trying to be all things to all people.  It’s the surest way to look unremarkable and average to the largest number of people.

Narrow your focus.

Don’t try to appeal to everyone.

In fact, it’s arguable that part of success in marketing involves being as repulsive to people you do NOT want to work with as you are magnetic and irresistible to the people you DO want to work with.

Pick out the segment of the market that you want to appeal to and put all your attention and focus on becoming irresistibly attractive to THEM.

What other people think outside that group is of no consequence.
